Dr. Lichtenfeld grew up in the Bronx, New York. When he was small he could hear the crack of the bat when Mickey Mantle hit one out at old Yankee Stadium. After graduating from high school at the age of 16, he began college at S.U.N.Y. at Stonybrook. His initial intention was to become a chemist. After earning his undergraduate degree in Chemistry, he continued graduate studies at Syracuse University.

Days would be spent creating a compound that would only exist for the tiniest fraction of a second. As academically impressive as those accomplishments were, the benefit to humanity was questionable. Evaluation of the health care professions began. Shortly thereafter he transferred into the dental program at NYU College of Dentistry, New York, New York. He graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery, DDS, in 1975.

After graduation, Dr. Lichtenfeld completed a Residency at Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, CT. Waterbury Hospital is affiliated with Yale Medical School and the University of Connecticut Dental School. As such it offers one of the best residency experiences available. Following residency, Dr. Lichtenfeld entered private practice as an Associate in Providence, RI. In 1983 he established his own practice in the quaint New England village of Scituate, RI. In October, 1998 he moved to new facilities located about two miles away from his old office. The new address is 2695 Hartford Avenue, Johnston, RI.

Dr. Lichtenfeld provides general dentistry to families from RI, MA, and CT. His early training in chemistry still serves him well in his analysis of new materials and techniques.

In addition to maintaining his own practice, Dr. Lichtenfeld provides consulting services to Delta Dental of Rhode Island. He has surgical priviledges at Mariam Hospital, Providence, RI.
